Congratulations, you are expecting a baby! This time in your life is as exciting as it is frightening. Exciting, because the birth of a child is a wonderful life-changing event in one’s life. Frightening because we often hear stories of painful labours and sleepless nights. Enrolling in a childbirth preparation class is an integral part of your pregnancy, as the classes will help you prepare emotionally and informationally for this major event in your life.

All expecting families wish for a healthy baby and healthy mother and as well, a joyous birth experience. Childbirth education classes give expecting mothers and their partners a time to discuss and clarify their birth and parenting concerns, wishes and options.

The essence of prenatal classes is the help clarify birth myths and give expecting families a foundation of evidence based information so that they may birth and parent in awareness and confidence.

Expecting mothers and their partners needs and differences help shape prenatal class content. Pregnancy concerns, birth options and parenting skills are all taught in childbirth preparation classes. Prenatal classes explore a wide variety of topics from labour coping techniques to breastfeeding your new baby.
